What a busy December we had! I felt like we were on the go the whole time with Christmas and birthday parties. Add into that only being home from China for a month with a new brother and it made for one hectic Christmas. I tried keeping everything as normal as possible for Jaden for Christmas. We baked cookies and decorated the house(with only half of our decorations!). Santa had done most of his shopping before we had gone to China to make it easier once we got home. But between the shopping and the time we got home Jaden had changed her mind about what she wanted. Once we got home from China it seems that Jaden went through a big change and decided to become a princess loving pink wearing girl! She suddenly got very into playing dress up which was fine but all of her dress up clothes that she had were way too small. So Jaden decided Santa needed to bring her new dress up clothes and high heels! She also decided she really wanted the Princess castle and all the princesses! Santa had Doc Mcstuffins, a microphone and a scooter on his list! Not good! So santa had to make a few more trips to the mall and do a little internet shopping to fix the problem! But Jaden's Nana and Papaw were the ones getting the castle and they were not going to be here till Christmas night! Everytime she opened a present she was ticked because it was not the castle. We went to a Santa party and when he gave her the present she was so mad because there was no castle! This went on everytime we celebrated with presents! Which ended up being 6 times! Everytime she expected the castle and everytime she was let down! I knew Christmas morning would be the same thing so Santa decided to leave her a note letting her know that the castle would be there later in the day! I don't know if she was more excited to see my parents or get the castle!!! Thank goodness we had one happy girl this Christmas!
Warren's adoption has brought a lot of changes in our girl! When we first got home she was pretty angry and took a lot of her anger out on Warren. I will say we were pretty stressed when we came home because Jaden really did not like him at all! In China it was all good but once home the gloves came off! She would hit him and have major tantrums. She was not a fan of having him anywhere near her momma either! But sometime in the last few weeks she decided she kinda likes her brother and tolerates him being around. She knows she has to share but we have also made sure that there are a few things that are just hers such as the princesses! We have even had moments where she has asked Warren if he wants to play with her princesses! Major break through! Saturday she was sick with a virus so we kept the two of them apart. Rusty took Warren out and Jaden actually said that she missed her brother! There is very little hitting going on from both of them and there are many times where they are playing together and laughing. It is starting to settle down which is nice! I was starting to think they would always hate each other!
Another thing that has changed in Jaden is that she has a lot of questions regarding China and adoption. I think that actually going to China and seeing how this worked really got her to thinking. We have always told her how we went to China to pick her up but actually seeing it in action made her think. I can tell the wheels are turning. She will just start talking about her China family out of the blue so we talk about her foster mother and the orphanage. She also seemed to be afraid that someone would come and take her back to China so we explain that they will never take her back and she is in our family forever. She also says that she wants to go back to China to visit but this time she does not want to bring home a brother! Her daddy feels the same way! Mommy on the other hand is not so sure! :-)
I am a southern girl from Mississippi who married a yankee from Ohio who moved me from MS to Nashville and now Ohio! We finally brought our little girl home from China in August of 2009! Now we are headed back to China to bring home our son!
