Home Sweet Home

Here is a picture of our new house.  I just love it, minus the snow.  You dont know how many times I slipped trying to get this picture!  Oh and if you look very closley you will see that I have put up our LSU sign!  I am not scared of those nuts(buckeyes)!  We are playing them in the championship game and I cant wait.  I wear my LSU gear out proudly!  I even wore it into an Ohio State store.  I stood by the front door and said I was the door greeter!  :-)  I am trying to show these people some class!    GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!!

Happy New Year!

I cant believe that it is a new year! This past year has just flown by! Of course maybe it had something to do with the fact that we had alot going on in 2007, mainly the big move. So much happened in 2007 and I am glad to see it all behind us! Now we can get back to a normal life.
We finally got to move into our new house just 4 days later then expected. We moved in on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and we were crazy enough to have Thanksgiving here. My parents and Rusty's parents were both here. We ate on paper plates though. I figured we had enough going on without having to wash every dish in the house!
I am happy to say that we are unpacked! Of course you cant count Jaden's room because I am going to paint her room before I unpack her boxes. Everything else is done! And after this I have decided I am not moving, if the company makes him move he is going alone or we are buying all new stuff and leaving this here. We have lived in three houses and three states in the 5 years we have been married and that is enough. Of course if they are offering him a job down south I may be tempted! :-)
So far this winter I have seen four Big snows.(remember for me big snows means 2 inches or more) I think I am ready for the snow to go away! It really has not been bad though. I guess the one good thing is that I dont have to get out every morning and drive in it. But what amazes me is that life goes on when it snows here. In Mississippi if we even saw one flake school was closed and the town shut down. Not here! Rusty never gets a snow day! Some of the schools did take a snow day but not all of them. It just proofs you can drive on snow. Well not me! Rusty did take me out and I drove a little, it wasn't too bad. But I was told not to leave the house the last two days while he was at work(he does not trust my driving in the snow). That was fine with me, its too cold!
On the adoption front the news still sucks! The CCAA has only referred up to 12/19/2005. They only did 5 days this last time. And everyone said that December was a small month. Now everyone is changing their tune. But January and February or supposed to be small months. I hope so! If you do the math in your head there are 85 days between our LID and 12/19/05. In 2007 CCAA referred over 100 days so if they do as many days as they did last year 2008 is our year! I really think that this is our year! Amy and I have gone over the numbers many times and we think that September could be our month. It all depends on how CCAA handles the Olympics!
We are looking forward to 2008 and feel it we be a great year for our family! We spent New Year's with our wonderful new friends Amy, Jeff and their little boy Charlie. They are also adopting from China and have the same LID and agency as us! We will travel together to bring our Jaden and their Sophie home! It was definitely fate that Amy and I met on the Internet one week before we found out we were moving here and it still gives me chills to think about it. We are so lucky to have met them and that our little girls will grow up together! I will put a picture of all of us at our New years dinner at a Chinese restaurant. Next year we will have two little girls with us to celebrate! Happy New Year!
