Finally out of the house!

We finally decided to get Jaden out of the house yesterday. And boy did we. We were gone from 11:30 to 7:30. She even napped in the car. We decided that since she had been couped up all week and sick we would give her a treat. We decided we would take her to the pits of hell, otherwise known as Chuck E Cheese! That is one crazy place! Screaming, fighting and tears, and that was just the adults. There were so many birthday parties going on it was nuts! But Rusty and I put on our big kids pants and endured it all for Jaden!
She had a blast. She was freaked out by the rides at first, but once she got the hang of it she was in Heaven. She worked up a big appetite and ate 1 1/2 pieces of pizza! After awhile the big kids had had enough so I made Rusty go spend the rest of our tokens so we could hightail it out of there! You can only take so much of a "good" thing!

An update from Jaden!!!

I just wanted to let everyone know that I am feeling much better!  I am back to my crazy active self.  I am eating better too!  Mom must also feel a little better because she dressed me in clothes that match!(socks not included)  I have not worn matching clothes for a week!  My hair is still a mess but I hear I am finally going to get my hair washed tonight since I am better!  I also heard that I was going to be able to get out of the house tomorrow and go shopping!  I haven't been out of the house for a week!  I hope you enjoy the pics I had mom take of me!

Thank You God!

Thank God daddy is home! Mommy held off just long enough for him to get home and then she threw up. Luckily the Urgent care was close by and I got there 3 minutes before it closed. Now daddy will be staying home tomorrow and mommy will be resting!!!

The bug- day 3.

I am happy to say that we are still alive and kicking. Jaden stayed in the same clothes I put her to bed in last night. I figure we had no one to empress but ourselves. The faucet that is Jaden's nose seems to have slowed to a small leak. Her cough is still pretty bad but luckily I have a stethoscope and can listen to her chest and she doesn't sound congested in her lungs. Mommy on the other hand is not doing so well. My chest and throat are killing me. I almost feel as bad as I did when we got home from Ch*na. I can not wait for Rusty to get home tomorrow night. I think Jaden and I are both driving each other nuts stuck in this house with just each other.
Today we also found out why they say not to let babies walk around with bottles. Jaden was sitting on the couch with her bottle and decided to get off. Well she fell and busted her lip. So now we are also dealing with a swollen top lip! Oh the fun we have when daddy is away!

Rat nests!

We are still sick here! I need flood insurance with all the snot that is flowing in this house! Jaden has spurts of energy where she will play for a bit, but for the most part she is stuck in my lap. Night time is still no fun. Rusty owes me big time when he comes home.
As you can tell from the pictures we just don't see the need to even brush our hair around here lately. Jaden always has a rat nest in her hair in the morning. The only difference with this one is its 6:30 at night. Whats the point in brushing it now?

A weekend of fun, or is it???

So the weekend started off great. Jaden had Chinese class on Saturday and really had a good time. She was a little snotty but nothing to bad. She got to march and twirl her ribbon in class and had a great time with all her new pals! Daddy got to "march" with Jaden and mommy got to take pictures!




We also took a picture in front of the crazy background for our homestudy update! Melissa said it reminded her of the backgrounds they use for referral photos and they might like it!!! The only thing missing is the deer in the headlight look!



After our photo shoot it was on the way home to get ready for our 6 month post placement visit. Jaden took a quick nap and then it was time. We did our update with Amy, Jeff, Sophie, and Charlie and it was quick and painless. We passed with flying colors! After the visit we decided to go to Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner. And that is where the weekend crumbled! Jaden was so unhappy and did not eat anything. I could tell she was not feeling well.



So home we went to get a good nights sleep because we had another full day today. But Jaden had other plans. Sleep was not in the cards for us. She cried all night and was just miserable. So today we had to call our good friends Bill and Melissa and cancel our plans for Chinese New Year. This was hard to do because I have waited for this one Chinese New Year Celebration for over 4 years. I was finally going to be able to bring my baby to the party. I just wanted to cry. But I know Jaden feels awful and I dont want to expose anyone else to this. So instead of Lion Dances and Chinese Dancers




We got to stay at home and clean snot, eat chicken soup and just feel miserable!



On top of all the fun we are having, Rusty has a "business" meeting in Florida for the next few days. So while we are freezing in Ohio and sick as dogs, he is living it up in Tampa. Must be nice! Now we are off to take a nap and see if we cant get this nasty bug to go away!

I can feed myself yogurt!

I decided to brave it today and let little miss Jaden feed herself her yogurt since the people where he to deliver the new TV.  It was a little messy but she got the hang of it.  It was real fun to clean up!  She is becoming so independent!

15 month check-up!

Jaden had her 15 month check-up this week. She is finally letting her peers catch up with her in height. She is 31 1/2 inches, this puts her in the 75%. When we first brought her home she was in the 95% so maybe she is not going to be as tall as we thought. She weighs 22.14 lbs. which puts her in 35%. We still have the problem of her having a tiny waste and hiney but long legs. None of her clothes stay up unless they are knit pants! The doctor said she is doing great and is ahead of her targets! She still only has 8 teeth but the doctor said you can tell she is getting her molars because her gums are swollen.


We are still snowed in here! Its getting very old. Luckily we have a busy weekend and have to get out of the house. Jaden has been attending Chinese music class twice a month and she loves it. I know she will be happy to see her friends in class Saturday. We also have our 6 month post placement visit with our social worker this weekend! I can't believe she has been home that long. We are doing our visit with Sophie's family so it will be fun for the girls to get together again. Sunday we have our local Chinese New Year celebration. I am so excited to go this year because we will finally have our baby with us instead of being a waiting family!!! Plus I get to dress Jaden in one of her Chinese silks that we bought on our trip!

In Jaden news, she is doing great. She is a very strong willed toddler! She has finally decided she likes our smallest dog Kayleigh, except she seems to think we should have named her Bailey and that is what she is called! She still tortures our middle dog Gabbie and loves her big dog Lancie! She does not like any of them in the bathroom with her when she is pottying and will say get out! She no longer likes to have her picture taken by me and will not sit still for me. She no longer loves Barney and has moved onto Elmo! This is big news for me because I hate Barney. I took some pics today of her watching Elmo, I also got one of her dancing to the theme song!

She is still a big time momma's girl. I can't leave the room without some tears from her. She is also going through the faze of being scared of people she doesn't see often. She will freak out if someone takes her from me. But she still has people that she will go to with no problem. Who knows maybe she is just a good judge of character and knows who she likes and dislikes! She did not like the doctor, I guess she knows who gives her shots!
Her new thing is that she loves her belly button and wants you to get it all the time. We tell her to show us her button and up goes her shirt and she points at it. Enjoy the pics and I will have more after this weekend!

We have a little Drama Queen on our hands!!!

Jaden has always been very good. She is sweet and so smart. She is such a happy baby and pretty much keeps us in stitches. She doesn't get in trouble much and has only been in time out once! But lately we have been seeing a whole new side of our little princess! She has become a major drama queen! She knows how to work her bottom lip, sometimes I think she pokes it out so far that she is going to trip over it. If you tell her no you would think someone hit her. She will walk away from you and go to the other side of the room and just fall out on the floor. Its pretty funny and I know that I am feeding the flames but I can't help but laugh. I guess we are going to have our hands full once this little girl grows up! I am attaching this picture to prove how much of a drama queen she is. I told her not to take the bow out of her hair. How dare I say that!

Finally out of the house! And snow pics!

So today I had all I could take of being indoors with a wild 15 month old! We loaded up the car and hit the road. We met our good friends Amy and Melissa and kids at the mall. We were a site, 3 white women with 3 beautiful girls from Ch*na and one handsome little boy from Ti*wan! We let the kids walk the mall and ate lunch. It was nice to have some adult conversation!!! It was also nice for Jaden to burn off some energy. I will be so glad when this winter is over so we can get out of the house more often.
On the way home Jaden fell asleep before we were even out of the mall parking lot so I decided to take some pictures around town of the snow so my peeps down south could see. Enjoy the pics!
