2 Year checkup and more Thanksgiving pics!

So today was Jaden's two year checkup. She got 3 shots today which is the limit I allow, usually we just do two but I wanted her to have the flu shot. She was not a fan of the shots at all and I am already dreading when I have to take her again in two months. I realized today that she is no longer a baby because they put her on the big scale instead of the little one. Kinda sad! Jaden is up to 26 pounds(I thought she was 27 1/2 but I guess our scale is off, this is good news for mom!)
She is now 36 1/4 inches tall!!! That means she grew 4 inches in the past five months! She is now back in the 95%! The doctor said not only is she tall by Asian standards but also by American standards! I guess she will be taller than Rusty and before long. I never thought I would have a tall Chinese daughter! The Dr. said she is doing great and whatever I am doing I need to keep doing it!

Now onto our Thanksgiving holiday. We all had a great time in Mississippi! It was 80 degrees the whole time we were there until the day before we had to leave. For the first time we all made it home without being sick. I guess that it helped that we were sick when we got there.

While we were there Jaden had another birthday party. Someday she will have to realize that most people only have one birthday party! She loved her party and is really getting the hang of opening her own gifts!

Jaden also had fun playing with her cousins Cheyenne and Kayla! She even decided that she liked to pose for pictures and would just sit down and say cheese!

Jaden also got to play in her first big pile of leaves. She does not like to be dirty but she ended up enjoying the leaves!

We had a great Thanksgiving day with family!

Jaden also got to spend sometime with her cousin Jodus which always makes her day!

We also celebrated Christmas early since we will be at home this year. Jaden got her first American girl doll and she seemed pretty stoked!

Before we knew it we had to back our bags and hit the road. Jaden had to say goodbye to her Nana and Papaw. Thank goodness that Jaden was in a good mood and only cried 5 minutes during our 13 hour ride.

And now we are packing our bags again so Jaden and I can fly back down south next week! We are meeting up with the Spruill family at Disneyworld for a girls week of fun! I cant wait!!!

Visiting our travel buddy Mia!

We decided to stop by and stay with one of our family members that we made while in China on our way to Mississippi this weekend. The Zotti's were nice enough to let us crash at their place and wreck their house! We had a blast! Jaden loved seeing all the Zotti girls again and I loved the fact that I was able to move around without a two year old stuck to my hip for a while! I also kept hearing "Georgette, Cheese" from Mia, she loved having her picture taken and I loved taking it! The girls gave us a little show and danced all night! Too cute! I know there are some people who want to see pics so I will shut up and post the pics!!! Enjoy!

Jaden's first concert!

So for months now I have been anticipating tonight!  Wondering what Jaden's reaction would be when she saw the stage and saw her hero come out in person.  Today we found out!
First I told Jaden that she was going to her first concert and that her favorite person besides mom would be there!!!  She was beyond excited!!!

Then we got there and she was patiently waiting to see the big red guy!

Finally he stepped on stage and the crowd went wild!

Its every toddlers dream to see ELMO live and yes we did it and we did it good!

It was actually pretty funny because the usher kept having to push some kids back because they kept rushing up to the stage.  It brought flash backs of my last rock concert a little over 10 years ago KISS!  Except this was 2,3,& 4 year olds being pushed away from people dressed up in furry costumes!
Jaden loved it and had a great time!  She got her t-shirt and stuffed bird but we steered clear of the $10 Elmo balloons!  We did get to see about $50 float in the air as 5 kids lost their balloons and their parent's money!

So now we are good for another year when I am sure the red guy will make another appearance!

Tomorrow we are off to see a special little friend from China and her parents and three babysitters, whoops I meant sisters!  (love the Z girls!!!)

Happy birthday to my baby girl!!!

Today my baby turned two!  I can't believe how fast she is growing.  She does something new everyday!  Of course I feel like we have already been in the "terrible twos" for a couple months.  I think she decided to get a jump start!
I decided to take her somewhere that she enjoyed going and since we did the zoo earlier this week, today we did the science museum.  She had a great time and enjoyed their new water table for 45 minutes!  After  3 1/2 hours of non stop fun we packed it up and went home.  Tonight we will have our favorite Chinese food and maybe some ice cream and just enjoy our little birthday girl!!!

And a big thank you to all my family and friends who took the time today to call and wish Jaden a happy birthday! Its nice to know so many people care!!!

Cooking with Jaden!

Jaden got the cutest apron and hat at her birthday party last week and we decided to put it to use yesterday!  Mommy was making her favorite meal of chicken and dumplings and Jaden donned her apron to "help" me!   After watching her sneeze into her dumplings we decided not to add them to the pot!!!
