Why Jaden's daddy is no longer allowed to use the dishwasher! And a B-day party!

Yesterday Jaden got her first taste of how her birthday is going to be but on a much smaller scale. Rusty's birthday is tomorrow and Jaden's is the 11th so his employees decided to give them a double party. It was a surprise so Jaden and I took Rusty to lunch while they set it up. We came back and they had balloons, cake and ice cream waiting for us. They even bought Jaden a little unicorn! Of course Jaden loves being the center of attention so she had a great time! I can't wait for her party in two weeks!

So today we spent the morning cleaning the kitchen since it has been neglected since little miss came home! Rusty was nice enough to "help" me and loaded the dishwasher for me. A few minutes after he started it he asked if bubbles always came out the bottom! Ah NO!!! I thought he was joking but to my surprise he wasn't!

Thank goodness we were home and I was able to put towels there to catch the bubbles. Now why, you ask did this happen. Here is a hint!

Gee I wonder which one Rusty used. I know who is not loading the dishwasher again!

Jaden's new favorite thing!

The Chinese do not give their babies pacifiers so Jaden had never had one when she joined our family. We brought a few with us to China but she wanted no part of them except for one day in the park when she was very tired. Well after we came home they were just laying around and she would play with them but never use them. That has all changed now. She is a pacifier fanatic. If she sees it I better give it to her or she will scream. She has to have it to sleep and would love to carry it with her all day. Now the funny thing is she will only use one type of pacy. One type that can not be bought here in Buckeye country. Any guesses on what that one would be???

Yep, that's my girl. Already a tiger fan! Now if anyone can find another one just like it let me know. I don't know what we will do if she loses this one!

Last International adoption clinic visit and a reminder of what she left!

So today was the second part of Jaden's clinic appointment. Everything went great. Her hearing was excellent. She is now in the 97th percentile for height 75th for weight and 50th for weight with her height, the doctor said it doesn't get anymore perfect then that. They said whatever I am doing I need to keep it up. Then we met with the nutritionist who said the same thing and then on to the Phycologist. Once again we got a passing score! Finally we finished up with the lab work. After entertaining the whole waiting room we were called back and she cried right when they stuck her but after that she was more interested in what they were doing than how much it hurt. They drew 10 vials of blood from her tiny arm, one extra one because she is going to be part of a test group that the Doctor is doing. I think it hurt her more than it did me. Now we wait for our results.
An interesting thing happened while we were there. When they brought us back to read her TB test there was an interpreter that went back with us. Yhea thats right a Chinese interpreter! I asked them did they have the wrong person and nope she was there for Jaden! I had to laugh. We told her we would not be needing her since Jaden is only 10 1/2 months old. Before she left she started talking to Jaden in Chinese. Jaden jerked her head around so fast I thought she was going to give herself whiplash! She was smiling and giggling and clapping like crazy at the woman speaking to her in Chinese! I wanted to cry because it was so sweet, I never thought she would react that way. It went on for some time and everyone was watching how her eyes lit up. The woman told me all she was telling her was she was a pretty girl and she liked her clothes! It was the sweetest thing I have ever seen. It seemed like she knew what she was saying.I guess she still remembers. Delaine told me I should have asked the woman what Jaden thought about me, wish I would have!

Jaden's earliest picture

While we were in China we were given the newspaper that carried Jaden's finding add. They were required to put her picture and finding info in the paper before she could become available for International adoption. I know you cant tell much with this shot but it is clearer in the paper just alot smaller. She is so tiny! I am hoping we will get more pics like this back from her foster mother!

2 months a family! So let her eat cake!

Well yesterday marked out 2 month anniversary as a family of 3, well 6 if you count our three dogs! I would have posted yesterday but I have to take the time where I can get it. I can't believe that Jaden has been with us 2 months now. In a way it seems like she has always been with us. She fits so perfect. China knew what they were doing when they matched her to us. I catch myself staring at her at night while she sleeps(in the bed with me of course!) because it does not seem real that she is here with us after so long. But when she wakes me up at 3 AM to play it feels real!!!
We celebrated today with a trip to babies r us where Jaden saw her favorite TV character and just had to have it. Much to Rusty and I's dislikes she loves Barney! We both detest the purple dinosaur but what can you do? At least I get a few minutes peace when he comes on TV! We finished off the day with a celebration cake. We gave Jaden her own piece and she had a blast. Now she doesn't get sweets often and after tonight she will most likely never get them again! Its almost 9:00 and she is going strong!
In other news Jaden had her visit with the international adoption clinic here in town Friday. For all you not in the know they check the babies out to see if they are delayed in anyway. Usually these babies may have some delay because they have been in orphanages and don't get the stimulation they should get. We were fully prepared to get a baby that was delayed. We so did not get that baby. The doctor was very surprised with Jaden's development. She has no delays what so ever! They said her developmental age is 13-14 months! They were also shocked at her vocabulary. We have to go back on Monday to get her hearing checked, see a pshycologist, and do the blood work! That part I am so not looking forward too! This weekend we are having to collect poop for them to test. Thank goodness she is using the potty again because she is making it so much easier for me!
And finally I think the reason that Jaden is doing so well is that she had a wonderful foster mother. There is no doubt that she was loved and well cared for. I think about her alot because I know it could not have been easy to have her since she was 2 days old and keep her almost 8 months before someone she never met took her away. So I started asking for help in finding her because I did get her name while we were in China. A few weeks ago I contacted a man that lives in the province Jaden was from and he finds foster mothers and does homeland tours for adoptive parents. Well he knows Jaden's foster mother! He talked to her the day I emailed him and found out that the foster mother had taken pictures of Jaden while she lived with her! She wants us to have these pictures and she would like pictures of Jaden and her parents! So right now we are working on this. I have sent the pictures and a letter to the man to translate for me and he will take it to the foster mother. My hope is to stay in touch with her so Jaden will have that connection when she grows up. I am so glad I was able to find her and thank her for everything she did for Jaden in those first 8 months. We will forever be grateful to her! I will update again when I have the pictures and info!
