Very mini Reunion!

This past weekend we headed to Indiana so Warren could see Lucy for the first time since China!  We had a great time with Lucy and family!  Jaden adores Lucy's brothers and sister!  It was a wonderful trip just relaxing and spending time together again!

All too soon it was time to say goodbye.  Luckily our fun was not over yet!  Since we were in Indiana we decided to meet up with Jaden's travel mate Grace!!!   I am so glad we were able to have lunch with them because I have really been missing our China buddies since we were not able to do a reunion this summer!  And since Bret is the king of eating out I knew the food would be great!  It's just like family when we all meet up since we shared something so special with our girls!  Jaden has a special place for Grant too ever since the first kiss way back in 2010!  So glad we have this wonderful family in our lives!!!

American Girl!

I planned this for months I have to admit.  As a matter of fact the reservations were made before the store even opened!  I knew Gotcha day would be a perfect time to celebrate at the American Girl store! So I called Amy and we decided to do it together.
Jaden and I were a little early so we decided to try the new chocolate shop by the store.  We split a frozen hot chocolate and it was great!

Finally it was time to meet up with Sophie Su and tour American Girl!

I had told Jaden before hand that she would be able to pick out the bitty twins so we spent some time deciding on our "twins"! (Jaden decided on a set of fraternal twins!)

After picking out dolls and one set of clothes for each of them, it was time to head to the American Girl cafe for some dinner and desert.  Our table was pretty full after we added our three babies!

I think both girls loved the store and so did Amy and I!  I am sure we will be back when the twins need some new clothes!
Once we got home we loaded the twins into the princess jeep and headed down the street to a party in progress where we had some Gotcha day cake and a truck parade!

(the parade ended up being pretty short because a few car batteries died!)

We ended the night with sparklers where Warren learned a valuable lesson!  Never touch the red hot end of a sparkler!

Gotcha Day 4 years later!

It's hard to believe that four years ago we were in a hotel in China when our lives changed forever!  We were handed this Chinese baby who forever rocked our world!  I still remember those first three days with Jaden grieving so hard for her foster mother and me thinking I had made a huge mistake.  I wasn't sure I could do it but I am so glad I did.  After that third day something in her clicked and she felt safe.  And we fell totally in love!

Now here we are four years after that day and it has only gotten better day after day!  That 8 month old baby had grown into a beautiful 4 year old with her own ideas and attitude!  She is so affectionate and does not want her mommy out of her site.  She loves the fact that she is from China and loves to here "her story"!  She has made our life so much better.  I could not have asked for a better daughter.
Jaden I love you to China and back!
