We were fingerprinted!!!

Well this morning we went to the immigration office in Nashville and got fingerprinted! Now we wait for our I171H. We met a nice couple at immigration from Chattanoga who had just completed the adoption of their daughter six months ago and now they were going for #2. Both of their adoptions are special needs so their wait is not as long as ours. She said her social worker told her that they should get their approval from immigration in 4 weeks. I hope so, then ours would be that soon! Of course I told her that we had been told to expect 8-13 week turnover. Lets keep our fingers crossed. We were the only 4 people there who spoke english. I think as soon as someone comes from overseas that is their first stop. But they did let us go before all of the other people but it was still an hour wait. My fingerprints were perfect. The people doing our fingerprints said that if everyone was as good as mine their job would be alot easier. You know me I told them it was hard being so perfect! :-) Rusty's went well but they did have to redo two of them.
I am expecting to get our approval in January so that would put us DTC the end of January of the first of Febuary. Maybe they will speed up in Memphis and we will get it for Christmas. I doubt it though. We can always hope!

Notarized Homestudy

I now have the official copy of the homestudy. One more step down. We have decided to wait until after Thanksgiving to get our fingerprints done. But our SW did mail a copy of our homestudy to Immigrations. This is the LAST big step before we begin our official wait. I cant believe we are getting closer. It is beginning to feel like more then just a dream. I can see an ending. We are going to Mississippi for Thanksgiving and I plan on taking alot of photos for our dossier. Now all we have to do is wait for our I171H. I know this wait will be hard, at least with the homestudy I could email our SW and check on the progress. I wont be able to bother the US Government like that. Oh well we are still getting closer and closer to Jaden Elise!

Finally our Homestudy draft

Well we have moved one step closer. My SW emailed me friday with a copy of the completed homestudy report. There was only one mistake that needed correcting. She has emailed the homestudy to CCAI for them to go over and make sure that everything is correct and then she will send it to the immigration office in Memphis. She will also let us pick up a original so that we can have our fingerprints done asap! It took exactly 21 days from our last visit till the homestudy was written up. Not bad but I was sitting on pins and needles. Hopefully it will take CCAI less then a week to go over it. Then our first BIG wait comes. I have been told it can take 13 weeks for approval. But most that I have seen lately are taking 8-10 weeks before they get the I171H. Lets hope for a big speed up in immigration. My hope was to be DTC by Christmas but that doesnt look possible. Now I am aiming for a January DTC. Lets keep our fingers crossed.
We have also finished painting the nursery and putting up the bed. I know kinda early but we like to be prepared. I will email photos later!
