Christmas 2010!

We had a great Christmas this year. A few days before Christmas we took Jaden to see the Christmas lights at Alum Creek! She loved the lights and the free cookie that was hard as a rock!

And what is a Christmas display without a big sign saying H**ters sponsored it? Who would have known!?!

Christmas eve we spent in Dayton with some of Rusty's family. Jaden had a wonderful time playing with a few cousins! And of course opening a present!

Finally the much anticipated Christmas morning arrived. Santa Claus must have thought Jaden had been very good this year because she had to unwrap 25 gifts, that doesn't include the presents that were already unwrapped!!! Santa really outdid himself this year! She was so excited when she came down the stairs and jumped right onto her new tricycle!

After a while we got her off the bike and she moved onto her dollhouse! Once she saw the presents she was ready to open! In the start it took a while because she is such a neat freak that she had to throw each piece of paper away but after #5 she just ripped it open and moved onto the next!

It was the best Christmas I have ever had to see the excitement on Jaden's face. I know it will only get better every year as she gets old and understands it more!

Third time is a charm!!!

We have tried three times to get a picture with santa and Jaden.  The first time was with her bestie Mattie and there were tears and she ended up sitting on a raindeer.  The second time was at our FCC Christmas party and it was all out screaming!  But today it was at the mall, by herself in line with 50 other kids and she walked right up to him and sat in his lap!  There was no smile but there was also no tears.  You gotta take what you can get with this kid!!!

Early Christmas fun!

This past weekend we celebrated two different Christmases with family! On Saturday we went to Rusty's parents to have our Christmas with them. Jaden had a great time getting together with her cousins Chase and baby Eliza. Of course she also loved opening all her gifts!

On Sunday we had Christmas with my brother's family at our house. We stuffed ourselves on lasagna and then let the kids open gifts. Of course when Jodus and Jaden get together there was also dancing. Jodus has now taught Jaden how to shake her bootie when she dances! Thanks for that!

The rest of the week we have spent running around doing last minute Christmas stuff. I had to bake cakes for Rusty's employees and neighbors. One of the cakes kinda fell apart but Jaden was more than happy to eat it since it was her favorite, chocolate!!!

Yesterday Jaden decided that she wanted to pose for pictures with our dog. I dont think Lancie was to excited about it!

I also had a doctor's appointment yesterday where I found out I do have arthritis in my tailbone! Yhea. This makes for a real uncomfortable ride on long trips! Who even knew such things were possible! Leave it to me. Also we got our much anticipated package in the mail yesterday! Yep that would be a box of aloe toilet paper with 48 rolls! I have gotten alot of slack from Rusty about this but it was half price and I did not have to pay shipping! He will be thanking me when his butt is smiling from all the aloe!!!
Now for the next few days I have to wrap Jaden's gifts and just maybe we will try our santa picture again. Of course I am sure Jaden will be doing alot of relaxing the next few days to rest up for all that unwrapping!!!

Baby it's cold outside!

Well our winter has already started!  I had hoped that it would hold out for a little longer but oh well!  This weekend we got our first real snow.  We got about 4-5 inches of the two days.  Its not much but it is enough.  Jaden and I have been stuck in the house since Saturday night.  Rusty has decided he likes driving my van because of the heated seats and I don't like his car.  But I would not have gotten out anyway.  I decided to see if JJ's snowsuit from last year fit and go outside to shovel some snow.  Luckily it still fits and it should make it through the season.  Her snow boots are another story.  Gotta put those on my shopping list!  The shoveling did not go well because alot of the snow has already turned into ice.  Our driveway is now a skating rink!  I was able to stay on my two feet but Jaden wasn't so lucky.  Of course she thought it was funny to keep sliding!  Luckily she takes after me and does not like to be outside in the snow so we didn't even make it 10 minutes!  Just long enough for some pictures and my hands to freeze!  Gotta put gloves on the shopping list too!!!

Disney in review!

I know, I suck. My plan was to update everyday while we were in Disney but that just didn't happen! We did not have much down time and then little we had I was to tired to post! So here ya go for my one blogger faithful I have!:-)
Of course the first day we were there we did downtown Disney to shop. And boy shop did we!
Day 2! Otherwise known as meltdown day! We had tickets to the Christmas party at the Magic Kingdom. Only downfall was that we could not get in until 4 so we slept in and had a late lunch and road the monorail so much that Caroline never wants to ride it again!
Delaine and I had the bright idea that we would rent a stroller for two that way the girls could sit together and we could take turns pushing. We all know how that went! If you missed it see the picture in the previous post. I just don't have the heart to post it again. To many bad memories! But after the meltdown the girls did have a good time! They got to ride Dumbo which was a big hit.

We rode the carousel which got alot of smiles.

We also road the Winnie the Poo ride where I learned that Jaden is not a big adventurous type! She was totally freaked by the ride and clung to me screaming the while time! Sorry no pictures!

We also got to meet the mouse himself and of course Minnie. I had been dreading this meeting after our Santa incident but Jaden surprised us all and went right up to him and hugged him. I didn't even have the camera ready because I was so shocked! But I was ready when she hugged Minnie!

Finally it was time to get in line for the parade. We also bought(bribed) the kids with light up toys and popcorn!

After the parade we hit the free hot chocolate and cookie stands. Someone had enough and fell asleep!

We decided to leave the park about the time that the fireworks started. This made for a fun journey because we of course had to go down Mainstreet with a double stroller. I felt like I was playing Frogger from the 80's! There were many injured toes on people who did not get out of my way! I asked nicely for them to excuse me but if they chose now to listen that was nobody's fault but their own. I was a woman on a mission and my mission was to get to bed!
By the time we got back to the hotel both girls were passed out and I was able to undress Jaden and get her ready for bed without a peep from her!

Day 3 was Animal Kingdom day! Once again we slept in and took it easy. We woke up to our wonderful view of animals outside out window which was great. And The girls played!

After lunch we went to the park. We loved the Safari ride. The girls thought it was so fun bumping up and down in the jeep. My bottom was not feeling the same way though! We also ran into some more carachters!

Jaden is in a dinosaur faze and was so excited to ride an actual dinosaur twice!

Then it was parade time again! Jaden loved parade time so we did it everyday! There was alot of dancing going on with Jaden!

After a few adult rides we called it a day! Once again Jaden had no problem going to sleep!

Day 4 we went to Hollywood studios! You will notice the girls were in seprate strollers. After our first meltdown we changed our plans to single strollers! Lesson learned! The girls got to go to Mickey's clubhouse which was a hit. Once again alot of dancing going on!

And of course it wouldn't be Disney without a parade! It was great!

The girls were great and even took naps. They also allowed us to ride some adult rides!

That night we ate at the hotel restaraunt which was great. We had a early night because we had to get up bright and early for our planes!

The next day we were up and out the door by 5 AM!!! We said goodbye to Disney and back to the real world!!! We had a great time and can't wait to see the Spruill family again!

Then we came home and I slept three days straight! Yeah right!!!
