Care package on the way!!!

Well today we sent Jaden her care package! It cost $45, which is more then I spent for everything in the box! We sent her a blanket because she looked so cold(yhea right) a little blanket with a bunny head that has a rattle in it, a rattle(her favorite toy, or so they say), a stuffed panda, a photo album with pictures of her family and home, 2 disposable cameras, and some candy for her caregivers! They say it should get there in about 10 days! I hope she gets it!

Catching up!

Ok well this whole week has been a whirlwind. I finally got a good night sleep on Wednesday and didn't wake up until 12:00 the next day!!! I was so drained! So anyway I never got to post how things went down with the referral day and all. So here ya go. Alot of people have asked if Rusty was home when we got the call and the answer is yes. He got home about 45 minutes before they called. We were able to video the call so we will be able to show Jaden. After we got the call and called everyone in the world we went to my friend Amy's who if you have been following my blog you know the whole story of how we met on the net while I lived in TN and then 2 weeks later we found out we were moving here. We live 10 minutes from each other. Well we were shocked to find out that Jaden and Sophia are in the same orphanage! They are two weeks apart in age so they will grow up together. We are thrilled. We spent that night celebrating with Amy's family, Kearston, Amanda and Melissa and Bill who have one child from China and one from Taiwan. We all had a great time!

Then onto Tuesday when we got the other pictures of Jaden. I knew they were coming by FedEx and even had the tracking number. They had to be delivered by 3:00 that day. I really wanted to get a picture of the "stork" so I waited outside for a while. Then I put a note of the door asking him to knock so I could get my picture. I waited and waited. Finally at 2:51 he came. I am sure he thought I was a nut when I met him at the door with a camera. He was more then happy to pose though. I am sure he has done it all before!

The next few days I spent washing all the clothes I have bought for Jaden over the years. I finally gave up after 6 loads of clothes! I have tons of clothes from 12 months up to 3T, but none for a 7 month old! Yes I expected an older baby! But we are thrilled to have a younger baby, just not prepared. So after boxing up most of the clothes I have bought I went shopping. I bought a couple clothes that Jaden should be able to wear and I bought an excersaucer and a few more bottles. Today we loaded up on diapers. So now we are prepared for an infant! And we are so ready to bring her home.
We have already gotten our first travel packet from our agency. It is already overwhelming. I know that time will fly while we get ready to travel. I cant wait to hold our baby girl in our arms.

Oh yhea I almost forgot, we set the dogs down and let them know that they were getting a baby sister. You can look at the picture yourself and see how they took it!........

Not to thrilled are they!

Where is Jaden?

Ok alot of people have asked where is Jaden. Well she is in the Fuzhou SWI in Jiangxi province. I have found the yahoo group for her orphanage and have already found pictures of her orphanage. Its new and looks pretty nice. Her province is in the southern part of China. Yep thats right she is a southerner just like her mom!!!

New Pictures!!!

Ok finally after waiting by the door, the FED-EX man came! We got two more pictures of Jaden! I just love the one in the car. She looks so happy. I have already told everyone we have to get her a car! I am sure the dogs will love that.
Her paperwork say she eats at 8am,10am,noon, 2pm, 4pm,7pm,midnight and 3 am! Holy cow that kid can eat. Her favorite activity is to be carried to a busy, nosy place to play! She will love it here! She is Restless and Impatient sometimes! She must get that from me! I cant stop looking at her picture!!!

Just two more sleeps till we see her face!!!

I cant believe that we will see Jaden's face in less then 48 hours! Yep that's right, 48 hours. Our referral has landed and is sitting at our agency in CO. They spent Friday translating it and will call us Monday. Of course they are 2 hours behind us, 1 hour behind all my peeps in Mississippi and Nashville and 1 hour ahead of the fam in Arizona(whats up Jodus!!!)! So I was told calls would begin at 10:00 their time. I know I will be a nervous wreck. I have the camcorder and call sheet ready to go and of course tissue. I do know we have a baby! I know nothing about her but I know she is real! Wow, this is going to be a great week!!!

I am running out of things to clean!!!

Well I have done so much nesting that I am running out of things to clean! Come on Ch*na! Last week I decided to clean the carpet in the dinning room. Then I thought well I can clean the china cabinet, which for some unknown reason led to me handwashing and drying every piece of China!!! Dont ask me why because it has only been used once and that was just two plates! But I decided that it needed to be clean for when Jaden came home! Ok so its clean, she can come home now!
I have now cleaned all the carpet in the house and even the furniture with the carpet cleaner. I so want to wash all of her clothes that I have bought her because I know it will take a few days. But I promised myself that I would not wash clothes until the referral! So lets hope this is the week or I am going to have to go to someone else's house to clean!!!

Girls weekend, New blog and sunbathing! Whew!

Well this past weekend I got to head down south with my friends Amy, Kearston, and Jen! It was a last minute trip to KY to stay with Amy's parents and just relax! There was no internet and no RQ!!! It was a much needed time to forget about all our troubles for a few days. It has been so great to have friends during this wait to tell about our pain, along with our family. But it is very special to have Amy in this wait and knowing that our girls will have each other. It is also great to have my wonderful friend Delaine in NC who is also going to China with us. Without ya'll I think I would have gone nuts.

Now I have to send a big shout out to my great friend Melissa who redesigned the blog! It looks great! She is so talented. I cant wait till we see Jaden's picture right next to ours in the next few weeks!!!

And last but not least, it is finally summer here in the north. Lancie has decided to spend the last few days before referral working on her tan. She is so funny! Of course she doesn't know that in a few weeks she will be going to Mississippi and getting all the sun she wants while we pick up Jaden in Ch*na. I know my parents are so excited about spending a couple weeks with their grand-dogs! hahaha!

Babies, Babies, Babies and Nesting!!!

Well this weekend we decided to hit the zoo because there have been lots of babies born here lately. Of course the most talked about is the baby elephant. Luckily we got there with a few minutes to spare before he was put up for the day. He was so cute. Here are a few pictures I took of babies and other animals.

Now on to the stuff I know ya'll all come here for. The adoption. Well I am in major nesting mode. I have cleaned the carpets on the top floor and the basement. All I have left to do is the main floor. My mom asked my why I cleaned the basement since Jaden will not venture down there till she is 18! Those that know me know that I am very afraid of the basement. The only time I will go down there is if Rusty is home. So he was down there when I cleaned. I am from Mississippi and we just didn't have basements down there due to the red clay and then in Nashville it was due to Radon. There is no excuse here so we have a basement. It is finished but still everyone knows that that is where the booger men come into your house! But I had to clean it because you never know Jaden may be braver then her mom and love it down there!
We are Patiently(NOT) waiting for the next batch of referrals. I can finally see Rusty getting excited about becoming a dad. Hopefully we hear something soon!!!
