Our other babies!

Most people know that we have three other babies in our house. Kayleigh(yorkie), Gabbie(schnauzer) and Lancie(German shorthair pointer). They were our babies long before Jaden was planned. Since Jaden came they have been put on the side and don't get enough love anymore. But we had a big scare so I thought I would post about them.

Lancie is the "baby" of the group but weighs a whooping 84 lbs! She is the big goofball and loves Jaden alot.(I promise it has nothing to do with the amount of food Jaden feeds here!)
Kayleigh is the oldest of our trio but she is also the smallest at about 6 pounds! There is no other word to describe her but as a bitch! She is not friendly to most people. She would rather stay away then join in the fun. Giver her 5 minutes of love a week and she is fine. She likes Jaden but only at food time!
Then there is Gabbie, our middle child in both size and age. She is the most loving of the group but also very hardheaded! She could do without Jaden but she will tolerate her if need be, need being food!

We had a huge scare with little Gabbie this week and I thought I would post since a few people have asked. When we got home from the reunion Gabbie was just off. I wont go into detail but there was a big sign something was wrong and it involved alot of blood. I had to bath her and when she was wet I noticed she had really lost weight. I called the Dr. and explained what was going on and he said to rush her to the vet. Now Jaden had been puking(from both ends) all day and had fever so my plan was to call Rusty and ask him to pick her up and take her to the vet. But after a few tears we threw on some clothes and headed to the dr. Let me add that this is all after 6:00 pm. Once we got there it was explained that Gabbie had an extremely inflamed uterus and would have to have surgery ASAP! He explained that she was in dire condition and our only option was surgery or to put her to sleep. Surgery it was! The Dr. called us after surgery to let us know she was out but still not ok. The next day he called to say she was a miracle and was up and eating!(its those Mississippi genes) We were able to go pick her up yesterday, after stopping at the bank to take out a loan to pay for it, and bring her home! The Dr. explained just how bad off she was, he was shocked she was alive! Her uterus should have been 2 inches but was over 12 inches due to infection! Her WBC count was way off the chart! But she is a fighter and is home and doing well! She is close to normal and lost over a pound in uterus alone! She is happy though because she is back to being the queen of the trio and is once again allowed on the couch, somewhere she hasn't been in about a year! We are so happy to still have her here! Even Jaden is loving on her!!!
