A girl and her gator!

Jaden has an obsession, alligators! My girl loves her gators. I will admit that I am partly to blame for this love of hers. I like to watch Swamp People. Jaden on the other hand LOVES to watch Swamp People!
If you haven't watched it you need to check it out. Its on the History channel on Thursdays. I like it because it is filmed in the bayous of Louisiana where my dad's family is from. Alot of my friends watch it and can't understand a word they say but I can since I grew up hearing it! Jaden just likes to see the gators. When she hears the music she knows whats on and hollers "alligator in the water!". She has no idea that they are actually shooting the alligators. She just thinks they are giving them a boat ride to the store! Even when we are riding around town and she sees water she says there are alligators in the water. Of course here in Ohio we have no gators so I just let her think they are there. Anytime we go to the zoo that is the first place we head to see the gators.
Last week I realized that she REALLY wanted a alligator when she came up to me and handed me a wrapped up blanket with nothing in it and told me it was her baby alligator. I decided it was time to get a gator. Here in Buckeye country there are not many alligator around to buy so I called up Jaden's Nana and Papaw in Mississippi to hunt us down a gator. And today finally the box arrived. We had to get on skype so my parents could watch her open her new pal. And boy was she excited!!!






So the rest of the day Jaden's gator has been close by. She decided that since it was a baby gator he needed to wear a diaper. Of course all baby gators also drink out of bottles and have to be burped regularly. This alligator likes to play with dolls and has even been caught taking a bath in the dolls bathtub!




He is also a fashionista and likes to wear baby doll hats!

After awhile gator needed to take a break so what better place than in the doll bouncy seat!
Tonight we found out that alligator liked the same show that Jaden does, yep Swamp People.



Thank goodness that she only needed a stuffed alligator! I would hate to have to change a real gator's diaper!
