Mommies have to do everything!!!

Since Jaden has been home I have noticed that everything she gets has assembly required! Pretty much nothing comes out of the box ready to play. In the beginning Rusty would put things together but I guess after awhile he decided putting together new toys was not his job. We get toys and they will stay in the box until he gets a wild hair! Well this week I decided that hair just was not coming anytime soon so I finally put together one of her Christmas toys myself. We also bought her a wagon a few weeks ago because she has outgrown her car that we push her around the block in. Well its just been sitting there in the box collecting dust. So I decided if we wanted to use the wagon before Jaden got her drivers license I better do it myself. I thought it would be a simple project of snapping on the wheels and going but I was so wrong! This thing called for a screwdriver, wrench, and hammer. I was good on the screwdriver and decided that it could double as a good hammer too! The funny thing is after I got done I noticed I never had to use the wrench! Every time I would get something put together Jaden would clap for me. She was rooting me on! It may have taken an hour but we got that wagon together! We even took a short walk and no wheels came off! Who knew mommies could do it all!!!(Please excuse the funnel that Jaden is playing with, I promise we are not trying to get her ready for college partying!!!)




This afternoon we decided to stop by and have lunch with Sophie and have a short playdate before we ran our errands! These girls love each other and I love to see how happy they are when they see one another!




Now Jaden and I are so excited because tomorrow her Nana and Papaw will be here!!! It has nothing to do with the fact that mommy gets a big break while they are here. And we get to go on a date night without a little certain someone!!!

Where did spring go???

Well I guess last week was just a tease to us. Once again it cold here in Ohio! No more walks for Jaden and I. We did get out today and go to the Rainbow park, only because it was indoors! Jaden had a blast and is starting to venture out and get farther away from me while we are out. I dont know if this is a good thing or not!We are hopping that Spring will make a return next week for Nana and Papaw's visit!








I know that lately alot of Jaden's pictures have been of the back of her head! She does not like the camera any longer! Anyway I was looking for a new point and shoot so that I would no longer have to carry the big cameras around. The salesman showed me one that also had a view finder on the front of the camera. Today Jaden was not cooperating with me so I turned on the front view finder. She was amazed. She thought it was so great to be able to see herself. Finally I have pictures of her face!!! And her nostrils!!!

The new puppies are here!

Well the new puppies came in the mail yesterday and now Jaden has her own litter. I wish I had the video camera on when she saw them. Her mouth and eyes got so big and she just started smiling! I think she loved on them all about 30 minutes! It was so cute! She carried them all over the house last night. When it was time for bed I told her to get puppy and she went straight for the old worn out puppy! I guess we are going to have to get the others dirty and grimy too!

We had nice weather all week so Jaden and I spent alot of time out and about. We have a little playground in our neighborhood so we walked up there to play. She had no fear and climbed to the top of the play set before I could get her! I ended up having to climb up there and get her down! Going outside has done wonderful things for nap time around here! Unfortunately next week is not looking so good for outings! They even mentioned the S word, snow!





We went to the park this afternoon for some ice cream. While we were there we had a nice little visitor, a squirrel! I don't think Jaden has ever met an animal that she does not like! She wants to pet every dog we see in the neighborhood, loves birds, and cats! When we go to see Sophie they have cats and Jaden gets so excited! Amy has to put them up or Jaden will drive them nuts! We found out after we were home that Jaden's foster mother had lots of animals including cats, pigs, and ducks so I guess she is so used to them!






We also hit Toys R Us today to get some things for Jaden for Easter. She hit the Jackpot and got a sandbox and a wagon! My real motive for going there was to get a much needed time out chair! Jaden has become a wild child! Some people would say she is spoiled but I don't know where they would get that idea from! She gets in "trouble" a good bit lately. If she has been told not to do something, the minute you turn your head she will do it. If we tell her no she just laughs at us. So I decided it was time to take action. We bought a little chair and put it in the dining room, this is the only room without toys! I have a feeling she will be spending alot of time there in the next few months!





Our house is once again going through teething hell! Jaden has decided to cut 4 molars at the same time. This is making for one very unhappy toddler, and alot of droll. She refuses to use a teething ring and instead likes her hand or any part of her mommy that looks appetizing at the time! I will be so happy once we have a full set of choppers!

Maybe I should stay off the phone!

I guess Jaden has learned from seeing me on the phone, she loves to "talk" on the phone! We gave her our old phone this weekend and she just goes back and forth talking to some mystery person like she knows what she is saying! I thought it was too cute! Not only did she have the phone in her hand but also her puppy! Anywhere she goes in the house he is right there with her. She has to have him to go to sleep. She does the weirdest thing with it. She walks around with his tail in her ear or up her nose. I dont know what is up with that! I decided that it would be best to find an extra puppy just in case something happened. After much searching I found puppy last night and they are shipping two of them to us know. Poor puppy #1 has had some fur rubbed off of his tail thanks to little ms Jaden!

Today we took two trips around the block since the sun was out. I have been trying to get Jaden to wear her glasses since she came home and she finally gave in and wore them for half of the trip! She looks too cool!


We also learned this week that we have to watch what we say around our little parrot. I will not say what word it was but mommy was on the internet and saw a picture of a certain ex-mistress of a former presidential candidate. I had a not so nice word come out before I could thing about it. Needless to say Jaden picked right up on it. So now we really have to watch what we say!!!

Oh Crap.....I forgot!

Well I can not believe that I did this but I forgot what today was. I am sure I am not the only one either because I talked to my good friend Delaine and she didn't mention either. Thanks to Madeline who reminded me on facebook! Today was out 4 year anniversary of our LID(log in date) with Ch@na! Four years ago I was so excited to find out our LID. Then for the next two I hated to see the date come. It was a reminder of how long we were waiting for our little girl! During the wait we lived and breathed 3/15/2006! Everything centered around that date. Where were they in referrals, how many days till our day. How many times would our agency tell us "you should have your referral in six months"! Yhea right! And now four years later I forget all about it. It didn't even cross my mind. I guess it had something to do with the wild and crazy 16 month old that I was chasing all day! She was so worth all the pain and work that started 4 years ago!(really 5 if you count from the start)

So to all you other families who were LID 3/15/2006! We did it and we never have to count down the days again!!!

Sunny days........

Well for the last few days, in this frozen hell we call Ohio it has been sunny and in the
50's! So of course Jaden and I had to get out of the house and enjoy the sunshine! We walked the neighborhood Sunday, Monday, and today! We have seen people who have been in hibernation for the long winter up here! And long it was, with so much snow. We had over 50 inches so far this year. Jaden and I are keeping up hope that there will be no more measurable snow fall this year!!! We now know why most of the people in the north are not that friendly. You have to harden yourself up to take these winters!!!

Jaden had a blast yesterday when we were out walking/riding her car. The bad thing is that Jaden has gotten too tall for her car. Her little knees hit the dashboard! But don't worry, we have Nana and Papaw looking for a new car for Easter!!! Boy we can't wait till they come up for Easter to see us(I promise it has nothing to do with the fact that mommy will get a big break while they are here!)






Jaden even got her hands dirty for the first time since she has been home from Ch*na!

Today we decided to head back out, without a jacket before the rain comes in! We had a good time walking the neighborhood(wearing her out so she would nap)! We also decided to get out the sidewalk chalk and do a little redecorating! I also learned that Jaden suffers from the same disease as her daddy, the "nobuttatall" disease. If her diaper wasn't so big I know I would have seen alot of crack!




We also decided we would do a little spring cleaning outside. In otherwords we would clean up the mess daddy made when he drove over the newspaper with the snow-blower! Nothing like newspaper confetti in your yard!




Then it was back inside for some rest and snacks!





Then after nap we decided to head out one more time to watch daddy due his favorite chore. Otherwise known as the first poop scoop after the thaw. And boy was there alot of poop to scoop. It looked like a land mine out there! We really enjoyed watching daddy work!


Then it was back inside for another snack and some more watching daddy scoop poop!
